Yoshino Sugi is a variety of Japanese lumber which is grown in Yoshino forest in Nara prefecture. The wood has a close grain and few knots, which makes the wood stronger than other varieties of cedar. The woody scent is said to have a calming and relaxing properties with an added benefit of deodorant effects on people.
